On May 9, almost 70 hospital physician leaders from across Ontario attended Physician Leaders Day, hosted by CPSO Registrar/CEO Dr. Nancy Whitmore and Associate Registrar Dr. Anil Chopra. The event offered participants the opportunity to learn about the work of the College, network with colleagues, discuss challenges in the hospital environment and provide feedback. Featuring a refreshed format, Physician Leaders Day expanded on past iterations of CPSO-hosted leadership events and incorporated Q&A sessions with the Registrar and senior CPSO leaders. Highlights of the day included: a discussion of the improvements in complaints and investigation processes, applying hospital reporting requirements and discretionary reporting to real-world scenarios, expanded registration pathways for physician recruitment, and the evolution of CPSO’s Quality Improvement (QI) program.
